About Us

The mission of the economic development division is to enhance the strength and stability of the greater Conroe economy through the support of existing industry and the attraction of manufacturing and service sector business (basic industries) which bring new capital and employment opportunities into the community.

Conroe Data

In Conroe, Texas, we are ready to do business. We dedicate a portion of our sales tax for incentives and improvement of infrastructure. We have two city-owned business parks to serve you or your client.

Conroe Park North, a 1,045-acre industrial park suitable for your manufacturing or distribution facility, and Deison Technology Park, a 248-acre office park suitable for your corporate campus, research & development, or office facility. We want you and your business in our community and we have done everything possible to prepare for your arrival when considering relocation or expansion.

Community

Conroe is a great place for your business to place roots and grow. Named the fastest growing city in the United States, Conroe offers plenty of opportunities to find your well-skilled, qualified future employees. There are more than 100 churches and synagogues in the area covering a wide variety of denominations and faiths. Conroe boasts numerous cultural activities, festivals and special events, while beautiful Lake Conroe and the adjacent Sam Houston National Forest and Jones State Forest offer a wide range of exciting recreational opportunities.

Community Service

Thousands of residents regularly volunteer their time and efforts to a number of local non-profit organizations. Program offerings range from providing shelter for those in need, services for families in crisis, foster home care, services for the disabled and aging, veteran services, and counseling. Organizations providing or funding such services include United Way, YMCA, Crisis Assistance Center, Montgomery County Women’s Center, Montgomery County Food Bank, and many others. Members of many different churches throughout the city participate in a variety of service projects, as do the local Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis, Jaycees clubs and other service organizations.

Safety

The City of Conroe considers safety to be of prime importance. A central dispatch office is located one mile from our industrial park and handles all fire, emergency, and police calls. The new 76,000 square feet, $26 million facility was completed in 2016 to house the police department, a state of the art dispatch office and a municipal court.

A new training facility is under construction in our industrial park. The $2.1 million project includes a three-story class A burn building, a six-story training tower, and a variety of other training simulations. Your employees and their families will be safe in Conroe.

Utilities

Entergy provides Conroe with electricity and CenterPoint Energy provides natural gas. To provide dependable service at the lowest cost possible, Entergy has diversified its fuel mix. Natural gas, fuel oil, coal and nuclear power are utilized as fuel sources. Entergy’s Texas commercial and industrial rates are very competitive when compared to other companies’ electric rates in the State. CenterPoint Energy also offers competitive rates throughout the area. Water is an ample resource in Conroe, coming from both deep underground wells and surface water from Lake Conroe. In addition, the economic development sales tax provided funds for major infrastructure improvements.

Communications

Consolidated Communications maintains a regional office in Conroe with a digital Central Office and fiber-optic rings throughout the Greater Conroe area including Conroe Park North. Several points of presence are located in the area and specialized data lines are available to handle today’s high-tech communications demands.

Suddenlink has a high penetration rate within the city with all major networks, premium and other channels available, as well as digital cable service and high-speed internet. One FM radio station, and a few internet radio stations, broadcast from Conroe and the city is served by The Courier, the local daily newspaper.
