site location partnershipChicago, IL (March 28, 2011) – Site Location Partnership (SLP), a Dallas-based corporate site selection and economic development advisory firm, announced that its efforts at the ProMat International Material Handling Expo were effective in enhancing its market presence to the logistics industry and identifying supply chain service providers with expansion plans. SLP provided registration badges for clients from Indiana who attended the show. The firm also participated in an exclusive networking reception with other professionals involved in corporate site location, commercial real estate and economic development.

ProMat, sponsored by the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), featured 677 exhibitors covering 270,000 square feet at McCormick Place in Chicago. As an indicator of the continued economic recovery of the material handling and supply chain industry, attendees registered in record numbers for the trade show with nearly 32,000 decision makers from virtually all manufacturing, distribution and logistics-related industry sectors. Reflecting the growing global nature of the event, international attendees represented 110 countries and six continents.

“In today’s difficult economic environment, companies must continually examine every aspect of how and where they conduct business to minimize distribution costs,” said Mark Darce, senior vice president of development for Site Location Partnership. “Corporations of all sizes and industries are looking for ways to improve their operations by aligning location strategy with supply chain strategy. Our primary goal at ProMat was to identify those companies with immediate needs for expansion or relocation, and educate them on how our services can guide them through the site selection process effectively and efficiently.”

SLP representatives met with other site selection advisors, real estate consultants, economic developers and senior-level corporate executives at the networking reception. “The reception was fantastic for allowing attendees to connect with industry peers,” said Jenny Zeilfelder, strategic initiatives specialist at Site Location Partnership. “We made several new business contacts and were able to exchange information on today’s relevant topics in site selection. It was a very positive experience.”
