site location partnershipHarlingen, TX (June 7, 2010) – Site Location Partnership (SLP), a Dallas-based corporate site selection consulting firm, announced that HHS Rotec LLC will establish its manufacturing operations in Harlingen, Texas. The company has leased an 80,000 square foot facility in the Harlingen Industrial Park to produce components for residential construction.

HHS Rotec was formed by Indiana-based HHS Development LLC and Houston-based Rotec Engineering USA Inc., to manufacture panels made of polyurethane and galvanized steel for housing markets. The company has the rights to manufacture construction systems of Platinum Advanced Technologies, Inc. for energy efficient, wind storm tolerant and pest resistant housing.

With letters of intent for 1,600 homes, HHS Rotec needed a new manufacturing plant in order to obtain contracts from its customers. “We considered sites from South Carolina to Texas, and Harlingen put together a very competitive proposal,” said Bill Harrington, managing partner of HHS Rotec. “The availability of reasonably priced industrial space, a skilled workforce and nearby ports make Harlingen very attractive to global companies like HHS Rotec.”

According to Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (EDC) CEO Bill Martin, the company will begin operations with 10 employees but has plans to increase that number to 200. “We’re excited that HHS Rotec has selected Harlingen for its new manufacturing operation,” added Armando Elizarde, president of the Harlingen EDC. “Manufacturing is alive and well in Harlingen and we welcome the addition of HHS Rotec.”
