Welcome to Hendricks County!
Access is the key to any economic development venture. Located just west of Indianapolis, Indiana’s state capital, Hendricks County is a prime location for Class A office development, transportation distribution logistics and the motor sports industry. Hendricks County is the second fastest growing county in Indiana. The tremendous growth is linked to the county’s accessibility to the major urban area of Indianapolis. Hendricks County is connected to central Indiana and the rest of the United States through an intricate network of interstates, highways and railroads.
In today’s complex business climate, logistics and warehousing must be integrated into the foundation of every company. Three major interstates provide the answer to all transportation needs. I-74 divides Hendricks County, which is conveniently located between I-65 to the north and I-70 to the south. Close proximity to the Indianapolis International Airport coupled with the new Hendricks County Airport-Gordon Graham Field, add to the extraordinary access.
Hendricks County has seen significant growth as the location for numerous corporate and regional headquarters. The county is home to nearly 30 million square feet of industrial space with projections for another 15 million in the next ten years. Hendricks County has also benefited from strong residential construction. The population exploded between 1990 and 2000, with 37% growth. Residents have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of metropolitan living combined with the personal warmth of small town charm. Tree-lined neighborhoods, shopping, restaurants and award winning schools make Hendricks County the ideal place to live and work.
The Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership (HCEDP) was created to compete effectively for quality economic development throughout Hendricks County by providing unified, proactive leadership. HCEDP’s goals are to increase the number of quality jobs in the county and increase the non-resident share of the tax base. HCEDP provides leadership through public/private partnership to support the infrastructure, land use planning, and business park development necessary for quality economic growth. |
