Marion is the county seat of Crittenden County, Arkansas. Located in the northeastern quadrant of the state, it is 11 miles west of downtown Memphis, Tennessee and about 130 miles east of Little Rock, Arkansas. It lies alongside Interstate 55, two miles north of its junction with Interstate 40.

Transportation and Travel
Marion is located along Interstate 55, four miles north of its junction with Interstate 40 and nine miles east of the Arkansas/Tennessee state line, Memphis, and the Mississippi River. It is bisected by US Highways 64 and 61; is 10 miles south of US Highway 63 and five miles north of US Highway 70. Main lines for the Union Pacific Railroad and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe also cross through the city.

River Transport
Marion is located eight miles from the Port of West Memphis on the Mississippi River. The port, located at river mile 727, is 626 miles by barge above the Port of New Orleans.
Airport Facilities
West Memphis Municipal Airport (four miles). Offers 6,000-foot runway, paved surface and taxiway, lighted approach, full ILS, aviation fuel service, T-hangar rental, charter passenger and freight service.
Memphis International Airport (18 miles). Offers full commercial service including nonstop trans-Atlantic flights via KLM; passenger hub for Northwest; Federal Express hub.
