Incentives
The Jacksonville Economic Development Corporation (JEDCO) is responsible for overseeing the use of the economic development sales tax. The goal of JEDCO is to first help our existing industries grow and prosper and the second goal is to attract new jobs that would be a compliment to our existing industrial base.
Since 1995, JEDCO has pledged over $7 million either in cash, infrastructure or land grants to businesses. These projects have resulted in the retention or creation of over 2,000 jobs in Jacksonville. Each client has different needs; therefore, the incentives provided by JEDCO are flexible and negotiable. Past projects have included land grants in our industrial park, cash grants for jobs created or retained and financial assistance with construction or expansion.
