About Crawford - Mission
The Crawford County Economic Development Partnership (CCEDP) is a public/private not-for-profit corporation organized to enhance the economic conditions of this county of 45,000. State and local government financial support combined with private sector contributions fuel our work.
Our organization’s priorities are:
• Support retention and expansion of existing businesses.
• Continued development of a local quality workforce
• Attraction of new business and industry.
• Support the development of high growth entrepreneurs.
The Partnership employs a comprehensive county-wide approach to economic development in Crawford County.

Infrastructure
Road
US 30 is a 4 lane limited access highway that runs east to west across the county. This recently constructed highway provides easy access to the following interstates:
- Interstate 71 – 35 minutes
- Interstate 75 – 45 minutes
- Interstate 77 – 90 minutes
Rail
Crawford has rail transportation provide by both CSX and Norfolk and Southern. Both lines run north and south from the Ohio River to Lake Erie. The county also has two east-west rail lines. The Chicago, Fort Wayne, and Eastern, operated by Rail America services the above mentioned two cities and terminates in the city of Crestline. There is a short line east- west Wheeling & Erie track in the northern part of the county that connects to CSX lines on both ends.
Water
Crawford is within a short drive of several Lake Erie ports. The ports of Sandusky and Huron are within an hour’s drive. The ports of Toledo and Cleveland are within 90 minutes of Crawford.
Air
Crawford has two smaller airports. Port Bucyrus airport has a runway length of 3,900 feet while Galion airport has a runway length of 3,500 feet. Mansfield Lahm Airport a larger regional airport located just 20 minutes from Crawford has a runway length of 9000 feet. Port Columbus International Airport and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport are within a 90 minute drive.

Low Crime Rate
Crawford County has low crime rate when compared to other Ohio counties.
Hospitals
Crawford County is fortunate to have two hospitals that have added expansions totaling $35 million dollars. Both the Bucyrus Community Hospital and Galion Community Hospital have undertaken large expansion projects within the last 5 years.
Schools/Higher Education
Crawford County is fortunate to have six school districts. This shows our community values education in smaller settings. Each of the school districts is in some phase of the Ohio School Facilities Commission’s construction program. Crawford has several parochial schools located throughout the community.
Parks and Recreation
Each of Crawford’s municipalities offer a park system that provides amenities such as baseball fields, swimming pools and other facilities. The Crawford County Park District offers 6 parks that provide a scenic backdrop for walks in the woods. There also several quality public golf courses available.
Shopping
A majority of one’s basic needs can be found in Crawford. Regional shopping centers Marion and Mansfield are a short drive. Opportunities such as professional sports, theatre, symphonies, fine shopping and dining, and the like are an easy drive. Three of Ohio’s largest metropolitan areas (Cleveland, Columbus, and Toledo) are within a 90 minute drive of Crawford.
